The Dream

I had just fallen back asleep in the rocking chair in my son's room after feeding him around 5am when I felt the familiar consciousness of lucidity. The feeling pulled me out from another dream and into the space my body currently occupied, but instead of an OBE I knew this was still the dream space.

My body floated out from the chair to hover in the middle of the room as an invitation to consciously participate.

I accepted the invitation and thought to myself that I wanted to stand up. I did so and began to navigate the dream.

I got the feeling that I had been invited to this conscious space for a particular purpose and decided to lucidly follow wherever the dream led instead of trying to manipulate it. I opened to the frequency of receiving.

After looking around, I noticed a strange, glistening crystal mirror in the bottom left corner of the inner wall.

A sense of foreboding and doom shifted the gravity around me and I had the divine sense-of-knowing that this mirror was a portal. It was my choice to reach out and see what it had to offer.

I chose, once again, to accept.

Slowly, I approached the small crystal mirror. But the more I focused my consciousness upon it and the closer I got, the larger it became until the mirror consumed the entire wall in my son's bedroom.

The mirror's multidimensional crystal faces began to smooth and there, standing in front of me, was the most powerful woman I have ever met. She radiated conviction, purpose, and a depth of beauty that came straight from the heart of the universe.

But she wasn't alone. Four shadowy figures—two on either side—flanked her, and I got the sense that I knew them all, despite only being able to really see the woman in the middle.

I felt drawn to her from across a chasm of gravity, or perhaps time, and approached the crystal glass until my face was almost touching it.

She did the same and moved forward until both of us were standing in front of the other, separated only by the thin wall of shimmering crystal glass.

She stood before me with calm self-authority, exuding confidence and a divine energy, standing deep within the roots of an ancient power that emanated from her pores, coating her skin in droplets of liquid light like a morning dew. Cream colored robes fell gently from her shoulders resembling something from ancient Egypt and she wore a headpiece I later identified as a khepresh, a crown pharaohs donned in times of war.

When our eyes met I was pierced in the heart by stunning sea-glass green orbs.

Then, she spoke to me.

Not with the sounds of words, but through the language of think-feeling concepts I have begun to know so well—the preferred communication method of extraterrestrials and other beings I typically encounter through OBEs.

I don't remember the fullness of our conversation but the prime subject remained undisputable:

"Cleopatra's tomb will soon be discovered and what lies within it will re-write history. It is important for you to investigate this when it circulates through the news as the knowledge will be significant to you."

Her words carried a gravity that echoed somewhere deep within the corridors of my inner memory. But I could not place it.

After our conversation ended the crystal mirror folded its dimensional mass back into the wall and I once again found myself standing in my son's room... but I was still in the lucid dream.

I was now free to do what I wanted.

The message had come from beyond my personal dream space.

And the message had been received.

Afterthoughts

After waking from this dream I spent some time reflecting upon it until I settled on some answers that feel right.

I've recently been experiencing a biphasic sleep pattern due to the care my newborn son requires which, when paired with some lucid dreaming techniques, can be a great way to seek answers to deep questions.

To best harness this opportunity, I've been using the MILD technique, combined with the best dream timing, to explore complex situations, new skills, universal concepts, and other questions in the dream space.

Before experiencing this dream, I had set the intention several nights in a row to meet someone from my team (my guides). It only took 3 nights of setting this intention before meeting them, something I had never experienced before.

Sure, I feel connected to my team. I know they're there and I speak aloud to them often, receiving information through the think-feeling conceptual language, but I have never before seen one of them.

Until now.

The dream felt exceptionally potent, a 10/10 on my gravity scale, and I determined that I had, indeed, met with my guides—all five of them as a matter-of-fact, though only one face was discernable.

I believe she specifically initiated the opportunity for that lucid dream to communicate in a way that ensured I could remember it.

Sometimes, if I encounter something extraordinarily incredible in an OBE, my mind will throw me from the experience back into my body before I can comprehend it because it is so difficult for my humanity to digest.

But dreams are easier to accept and move through in the moment because there's a filter on the experience.

In dreams, even lucid ones, I'm not completely conscious of my very soul and the dissonance between the universal ME and my human experience is muted.

Upon reflection, I am filled with gratitude to finally meet her face-to-face and to receive her message which I am putting out there as a potentially prophetic dream. Prophetic dreams can only truly be determined as such after they come to fruition.

On Cleopatra's Tomb

As of this writing, Cleopatra's tomb has still never been discovered. But if it comes into the light of the world this year... well you heard it from me first, haha!

And that may actually be a possibility.

My husband and I love historical documentaries about the ancient world. Several years ago we watched a documentary about the Saqqarra Tomb in Egypt which then fueled a fascination with any new and significant documentaries regarding finds in Egypt.

Since then, we learned about Dr. Kathleen Martinez who has been searching for Cleopatra's Tomb for over 20 years. She believes she's gotten close with her excavations and explorations at a temple complex called Taposiris Magna, 25 miles west of Cleopatra's capital city, Alexandria.

Even more recently, a sunken ancient port city was discovered near Taposiris Magna with many buildings, chambers, and areas to explore and it's thought that this may be where Cleopatra's tomb rests. However, underwater excavation proves extremely challenging and could take some time.

Still, I can't wait to see what they find...

This week, I wrote an article about harnessing the power of biphasic sleep and nap dreams. To learn more, you can either click the button below or continue reading! ☺️

On Biphasic Sleep

Did you know that for thousands of years humanity slept in a biphasic pattern: a first and second sleep split with a brief wake window? It’s only recently that we’ve begun sleeping through the night in a single stretch, specifically since the Industrial Revolution and dependency on artificial light through inventions like gas-powered lamps and household electricity. In fact, some societies without artificial light still experience biphasic sleep today.

Personally, as a new parent, I’m experiencing biphasic sleep and an increase in daytime naps as part of caring for my infant son and I’ve noticed that my dreams have become even more vivid, detailed, and off-the-charts informational. In fact, it’s gotten to the point where I’ll set an intention before my second sleep or afternoon nap and my dreams will follow through on that intention within a few days or less. Previously, fulfillment on my dreamwork intentions could take several weeks or more.

I’ve identified this increase in dream potency to be the result of the increased length of rapid eye movement (REM) sleep found in naps and later nighttime sleep cycles paired with an increase of consciousness as described in the wake-back-to-bed method for lucid dreaming.

REM Sleep and Dream Probability

Though it is possible to dream in any stage of sleep, most dreams occur during the REM phase of a sleep cycle.

A typical adult experiences 4-6 sleep cycles per night that take an average of 90 minutes each to complete. Every sleep cycle begins with restorative N-REM sleep before transitioning to the dreaming aspects of REM sleep.

What’s most important to note, however, is that the first sleep cycle of the night has the highest amount of N-REM and the lowest amount of REM sleep. As the night progresses, your sleep cycles shift, lessening the amount of N-REM and increasing the amount of REM. The last sleep cycle of the night has the most REM sleep and, therefore, an increased probability of potent dreams.

Increasing Consciousness with the Wake-Back-to-Bed Technique

Biphasic sleep and long (full sleep cycle/90 minute) afternoon naps are essentially the same as the common wake-back-to-bed (WBTB) lucid dreaming technique. The theory is that a brief mid-night wake window engages your consciousness enough to bring it back with you into sleep and, subsequently, your dreams.

Biphasic sleep is inherently built around a middle-of-the-night wake window but instead of only waking for 20-30 minutes as with WBTB, biphasic sleepers may stay awake for over an hour during their wake window, allowing a greater element of consciousness to arouse before falling back to sleep again. Additionally, with full sleep cycle nap dreams, consciousness may also be at the forefront.

When combined with the lighter sleep and longer REM cycles of naps and second sleeps, the extra element of consciousness can enrich your dreams and sharpen their focus on your intentions.

Harnessing the Dream Power of Naps and Second Sleep

Your dreams are content and communication created by you, for you. So when you explore a problem, situation, decision, or question in your dream space, you explore it entirely within yourself. This allows you to tap into exactly how you feel about the things in your waking life, allowing you to better address the world from your unique perspective and internal compass. By setting an intention for your dreams, you can open the door to receiving advice directly from yourself.

Setting Dream Intentions

When it comes to exploring something specific within dreams, the mnemonic induction of lucid dreams (MILD) technique is a great way to set intentions for your dreams.

The key with MILD is to verbally state your dreamtime intention, create a mantra for it, or engage a repeating phrase identifying it aloud before falling asleep. Vocalizing your intention helps externalize and reinforce it, moving it from abstract thought into something more concrete. When combined with the pattern of a mantra or repeated phrase, the vocalization of your intention embeds itself within your mind and carries into the dream space.

When you use MILD right before a nap or second sleep of the night, the probability of your dreamtime intention increases further with the focus of sleep shifting away from physical restoration to experiencing dreams through REM sleep.

Putting It All Together

Here are a few steps to increase the probability of fulfilling your dreamtime intentions and accessing the information you have for yourself:

  1. Identify a dreamtime intention. Some suggestions include, “how do I resolve this conflict with my friend,” “what next project would be most worth my time,” or even “I want to connect with one of my spiritual guides.”
  2. Plan your sleep. Either intentionally engage biphasic sleep through the WBTB method, use a natural window of wakefulness during the night, or lay down for a long afternoon nap.
  3. Engage the MILD technique before falling asleep. Repeating something like, “show me what I need to know about X” or “I will explore X situation in my dreams” can be enough.
  4. Repeat until fulfilled. Sometimes I’ll set the same dreamtime intention several nights in a row. It may take longer for beginners to this practice.

Dreaming for Answers

Over the last several months my sleep pattern has naturally become biphasic as I wake in the middle of the night to care for my baby. But instead of giving in to the feelings of disruption, I’ve consciously tried to reframe it as an opportunity for dreamwork… and it’s working!

By combining intention-setting and the MILD technique with the right timing of my second sleep and afternoon naps, I’ve been able to explore how I feel about parenting techniques, planned out full articles or book chapters in my dreams before sitting down to write them, and even connected with some spiritual entities I had been trying to contact through a lucid dream.

So the next time you’re searching for the answer to a question or looking for guidance on a decision, consider bringing it to bed with you. Whether it's a quiet afternoon nap or the opportunistic hours in a second sleep, your dreams are there to support you.

State your intentions, engage them at the right time, and trust your inner self to emerge from the dream space.

A Prophetic Dream

A prophetic or precognitive dream is one that predicts future events and is often accompanied by intense dream gravity.

They're littered throughout history and even date back to the oldest of texts (the first prophetic dream was recorded in the Epic of Gilgamesh, translated from a 3,600 year old cuneiform tablet).

But they don't only exist in the past, some prophetic dreams have been more recent and high-profile.

I believe all prophetic dreams are experienced one of two ways...

What I enjoyed doing last week: Going with family to the baby animal festival. My son was too young to really enjoy it but got tons of new sights, smells, and sounds in. Also I got to hold a baby lamb... EEEEE! 🐑

What I enjoyed reading last week: As I was frantically googling Cleopatra's tomb after that dream, this article popped up about a recent discovery of papyri scrolls detailing two sections of Homer's Iliad found inside some mummies... FASCINATING!

What I enjoyed watching last week: We're still grinding our way through Fallout: Season 2. We got to the part with the big scary monsters and, unsurprisingly, they dominated my dreams. 😅

What I enjoyed listening to last week: My son's coos and giggles. When I was pregnant, people wouldn't stop talking about how I should "savor every moment" and I got it... but now I really get it. I'm exceptionally present in recent days.
